The Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado is the central address for the Denver/Boulder Jewish community. It is the place where we come to celebrate our Jewish heritage, enrich our lives Jewishly, fulfill our philanthropic obligations and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel. Federation is the place where every Jew is welcome; it is the place where every Jew belongs. For more than 55 years, our Federation has been enhancing Jewish life. Each year we mobilize the community to raise the crucial funds that bring food, refuge, health care, education and emergency assistance to needy people living in Colorado and to the millions of Jews in Israel and around the world. Here at home, we are proud to play a pivotal role in building and sustaining many of the local Jewish communal organization and programs that form the foundation of our Jewish community. Through a planning and allocation process based on the needs and priorities of the community we are able to fund health and human services, Jewish education, community relations and development, cultural, religious and social programs through multiple beneficiary agencies. Our life transforming work impacts every facet of Jewish life, at every stage of life regardless of ability to pay. From early childhood programs and day schools to state-of-the-art care that enables our elderly to live in dignity at their highest level of independence, we are there to help. In Israel, we continue to stand tall with our extended Jewish family in the midst of a four-year campaign of terror that has left thousands dead or injured. Through our overseas beneficiary agencies, the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and The American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), we are supplying vital services to meet the most acute needs during this time of crisis. Across the world, our Federation serves as a beacon of hope and help in troubled times. From Ethiopia to the former Soviet Union and the recently impoverished Argentinean Jews, we are there to help.
